How is it diagnosed?
A patient with the above symptoms after contact with an object of latex should go to the allergist and confirm the suspected allergy by clinical history, skin tests, blood tests and controlled provocation tests.
How is it treated?
Although a vaccine or immunotherapy against latex, the best treatment is prevention of reactions. These measures are recommended:

What is latex allergy?
Latex allergy is an immune system disorder in which the affected person overreacts to contact with the proteins found in natural rubber latex.
What are the symptoms?
Latex allergy should be suspected in anyone who has itchy, watery, red eyes, nasal irritation, soaps, local or generalized swelling, asthma, anaphylaxis, anaphylactic shock (a reaction of the organism, with fainting, cardiovascular and life threatening),after contact with rubber or latex.
