Carbonated Beverages and Bone Health
Consuming Sparkling Beverages (carbonated drinks) will not make or cause brittle bones of osteoporosis. The main causes of bone fragility is because they do not consume enough calcium in your diet, (especially at a young age), changes in female hormones and lack of physical activity.
Many people think of bone fragility due to the high content of the element phosphorus (from phosphoric acid contained in cola drinks) or too much caffeine in the body system can cause our bodies is difficult to absorb calcium. However, experts have been put through a lot of research on this, and they concluded that all was not true.
In 1994, U.S. National Institute of Health (NIH) gathered experts osteoporosis and bone health at a conference on optimal calcium absorption. Experts report states “have never found evidence that could affect the absorption of calcium phosphate or calcium removal significantly.”
